Alpha Atlantic Capital is a real estate private equity fund.  Through our affiliates, we employ equity capital on behalf of our investors by acquiring real estate assets across the United States.  Our investment activities are focused on the multifamily real estate market, and in particular, we specialize in acquiring undervalued assets.
 
History
 
Alpha Atlantic Capital was formed in September of 2007 to continue the investment activities of David Grainger, Steve Skillen, and Manpreet Dhalla.  These same partners successfully formed their first fund (Fund I) in March of 2006 to test their unique business strategy.  Fund I operated under the name the Cypress Acquisition Group.

Asset Valuation:  Alpha Atlantic Capital utilizes innovative financial modeling and valuation techniques to identify attractive acquisition candidates.  Our proprietary valuation models are all internally developed and tailored directly to the multifamily asset class.
 
Transaction Efficiency:  Alpha Atlantic Capital recognizes the transaction inefficiencies that frequently affect sellers in the private real estate market.  As such, the Firm often tailors purchase agreements to facilitate a quicker closing with a higher degree of certainty for the sellers in transactions.  We believe that sellers value this efficiency and will prefer buyers, such as us, who can execute a timely closing.
 
Progressive Management:  Subsequent to completing an investment, Alpha Atlantic Capital works to develop and execute a feasible operating strategy.  To enhance manager performance, we design compensation structures that align managers’ incentives with those of our investors.  We believe this is essential for value creation to occur.
 
Maximize Shareholder Value:  Alpha Atlantic Capital strives not only to increase shareholder value but to realize those returns in a timely manner.  This objective involves variations of exit strategies and relies on our market research to determine when exiting an investment is ideal.
 
Market Analysis:  Alpha Atlantic Capital has developed and continues to refine a sophisticated economic model that analyzes specific U.S. metropolitan areas (MSAs).  Unlike some competing real estate investment funds that outsource this research to third parties, we develop and analyze metropolitan research internally.  This research is highly valuable to our equity partners as it allows the Firm to target attractive cities that other investment groups might have overlooked.  Similar to the Firm’s financial models, our economic models are specifically tailored to the multifamily industry.  Our market research is updated frequently, which allows our private equity funds to make well-informed investment decisions.
